Part 6: I Found Him!

I'll never forget those moments, that half hour leading up to midnight Feb 14th Valentines Day and the back and forth messages with David, as he conveys his congratulations for finding our guy, while I tested the information trying to be sure it was him. I mean it had been 22 years of hoping and failed attempts. Was I truly there? Did I find him?

I asked David, "So you say that this guy, "Habibi Tgb" is our guy? Are you saying his first name is Aud, cause if you look in the photo you'll see he wrote his name as Aud.

His response, "His nick name's Aud Toyibi, which means 'the little one" in Thai. He remember his photos. There weren't much musicians at Petchburi road that era.

(Yikes....my stomach and body begins to shake!)

When he spelled out that last name so close to all the other ways I had tried over the years, my heart skipped a beat!!

I had still not connected with Aud on FB. We hadn't friended just yet....and then this message came through to us through David:

David writes:

Aud just sent me this message.

"That's great news! I remember Terry very well and so glad to know that I have another daughter to love. Pls give her my FB and tell her to contact me. Thank you David and Mr.Chester very much too. Oh! pls give my pic for her too. This is the greatest Valentine gift for me!!!"

I rapid fired back a response:

Me: "Have him accept my FB friend request. I'm very nervous and hope this is it!!! I truly truly hope Dawn has found her father!!!", along with this photo of the family.

His response: Happy Valentine's Day to you and family,Hope you love your present.

AT THIS POINT just a few minutes shy of midnight and the morning of Valentines Day 2017 (I'm not lying or making this up!!), I ran to the bedroom and without turning on a light, I simply woke her and said...

"I FOUND HIM!"

And that's all she needed....she knew EXACTLY what I meant. She jumped from bed and immediately to the computer we went.
